Job Description

The role of the Fire Station Operations Coordinator

Reports to the Regional Manager, Station Officer or Leading Firefighter and is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the fire station. This position is based in Queensland with a 10/14 roster.

  • Maintains vigilance on alarm panels and notifies all crew members of incoming alarms or emergencies.
  • Calls out fire crews to impending incidents and emergencies, providing critical support during response times.
  • Manages the fire station logbook, accurately recording incident turnout times and other key performance indicators.
  • Obtains and documents emergency information requested by the Incident Controller during crisis situations.
  • Ensures timely completion of administrative tasks associated with the watch room, maintaining high levels of efficiency.
  • Participates in training and professional development activities, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Hold relevant public safety (fire sector) competencies.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of performance and professionalism, particularly in multi-tasking environments.
  • Show strong team orientation and a willingness to collaborate effectively.
  • Be prepared to work flexible shift hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Possibly required to backfill other fire stations within the state or region.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
