Mechanical Fitter Position

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our production team. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair and occasional modification of mechanical equipment, machinery and fabricated components across the facility.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a proactive mindset and a strong background in fabrication and general mechanical fitting. You will work closely with production teams to ensure plant reliability and maintain accurate records of work completed using CMMS systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
  • Carry out fabrication and welding of components for machinery modifications and upgrades
  • Assist in machine breakdowns and root cause analysis
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure plant reliability
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed using CMMS systems
  • Uphold a high standard of safety and housekeeping
Requirements:
  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and fabricate to spec
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork
Desirable Skills:
  • EWP license
  • Experience working in the building products, cement or heavy manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
