Commercial Project Manager

Description:

This is a dynamic opportunity to join our team as a Commercial Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing program controls and contract administration, managing time, cost, and revenue risks associated with customer proposals and projects.

The role involves comprehensive contract management throughout the construction phase, including handling contractual variations, claims, and governance to ensure successful project delivery. It requires close collaboration across teams by providing Contract Management Plans and best practice guidance during the handover from the project owner to the project delivery teams.

The ideal candidate will have advanced interpersonal and negotiation skills (oral and written) to provide specialist technical and commercial advice during bid development and project delivery. They will also have a strong commercial background with understanding of the nuances in negotiation to help a bid team win new business, while balancing risk and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mitigate time, cost, and revenue risks associated with customer proposals and projects.
  • Oversee program controls and contract administration.
  • Develop and implement Contract Management Plans.
  • Provide specialist technical and commercial advice during bid development and project delivery.
  • Lead negotiations and handle contractual variations, claims, and governance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction and engineering industry.
  • Advanced interpersonal and negotiation skills (oral and written).
  • Strong commercial background with understanding of the nuances in negotiation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or extensive appropriate experience in a capital-intensive industry.
