Job Opportunity:
Understanding Core Competencies in Adolescent DevelopmentThis project aims to explore the development and prevention of problem behaviour and poor mental health in adolescence.
We are seeking a PhD candidate to contribute to this research, focusing on the cultivation of social and emotional competencies in schools, communities, and homes.
The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary cohort of researchers and students based at a leading national addiction treatment, training, and research centre in Australia.
The research will involve examining mechanisms and processes of key social and emotional core competencies that can prevent problem behaviour and mental ill-health.
The project will lead to the development of systemic and targeted interventions to improve local and global health.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Domestic and international students with a strong academic background and research interests in adolescent development and mental health.
- Good understanding of positive youth development literature and classical Greek philosophy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Monash University offers various scholarships to support students undertaking Research Doctorate degrees.
Candidates will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative workspaces.
Supervisory TeamThe project will be supervised by Dr Bosco Rowland, a Senior Research Fellow with expertise in designing and evaluating health behaviour interventions and longitudinal studies.
Eligibility RequirementsCandidates must meet Monash University's minimum requirements for admission to a PhD.
