Community Rehabilitation Officer Role

This position focuses on offender rehabilitation and community safety through the supervision of individuals under conditions, developing and implementing rehabilitative strategies, monitoring progress toward goals, and conducting home visits to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise offenders in a community setting, promoting positive behavior and rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to address offender needs and promote community safety.
  • Monitor offender progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Conduct regular home visits to verify offender compliance with conditions and provide support when needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the NSW criminal justice system and case management principles.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with offenders, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on confidentiality and integrity.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments and manage complex situations with poise and professionalism.
