Undergraduate Placement Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Undergraduate Placement. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student looking to gain valuable work experience and develop their skills in the field of Environmental Health and Safety.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the onboarding process, promoting environmental awareness, conducting inspections, assisting with incident investigations, creating engaging communications, and contributing to the delivery of our Carbon Reduction Plan.

  • This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainability and has a strong foundation in environmental awareness.
  • You will be working closely with departments across the business to help embed sustainability into day-to-day operations.
  • Your excellent people skills, openness, honesty, and integrity will be essential in building strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • You will have the opportunity to analyze environmental compliance data, produce weekly KPI reports, and track performance.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be highly organized, able to manage a varied workload, and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the onboarding process by assisting with HSEQ inductions and related administrative tasks.
  • Promote environmental awareness by sharing updates on key initiatives, awareness days, and practical tips.
  • Conduct environmental and health and safety inspections at fixed sites and operational locations.
  • Assist with incident investigations, including evidence gathering, witness statements, and report compilation.
  • Create and distribute engaging Environmental and Health and Safety newsletters, alerts, and bulletins.
  • Monitor and report key environmental performance metrics.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Carbon Reduction Plan through practical support and coordination.
  • Maintain a clear and up-to-date register of HSEQ communications.
  • Analyze environmental compliance data and produce weekly KPI reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong foundation in environmental awareness, knowledge of sustainability principles, and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent people skills, openness, honesty, and integrity.
  • Ability to work in a busy and high-demanding team.
  • Highly organized, able to manage a varied workload with competing demands.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid UK driving license.
