Overview

We are recruiting an Advanced Support Worker to work with adults with learning disabilities and autism who have complex needs, helping them live the best life possible. The role is based in a service supporting two people and offers flexible shift patterns.


Salary: £14.42 per hour. Benefits and opportunities are described below.



Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism who have complex needs, helping them live as independently as possible.
  • Spend your entire shift with the person you support, building trusting relationships and promoting wellbeing and independence.
  • Be adaptable in your approach, work as part of a team, and mentor colleagues by sharing your skills and experience.
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support methods and communication tools such as Makaton and Picture Exchange System as part of training.
  • Participate in ongoing specialist training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure high standards of care and support while maintaining dignity, respect and choice for the people we support.
  • Work flexible shift patterns (as detailed below) to meet service needs.


Shifts

The service offers shifts from 7:30am to 3:00pm, 2:30pm to 10:00pm, and waking night 10:00pm to 7:30am.



Qualifications
  • Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent) is preferred; if not qualified, relevant experience in social care is required.
  • Experience in mental health, autism, sensory communication, and physical health is desirable.
  • Ability to connect with people and support them to live independently; strong mentoring and teamwork skills.
