Procurement Strategist Role

VetPartners is a family united by our passion for animal welfare and excellence in veterinary care. We are seeking a Procurement Strategist to take full ownership of assigned spend categories, ensuring effective supplier management, cost optimisation, and value delivery.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in procurement category management, particularly in indirect spend categories. They will be able to drive cost optimisation and improve supplier value through strong analytical skills and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Lead and optimise procurement strategies across assigned categories.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with management teams and clinics to drive procurement efficiencies.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactively assess and manage risks within supplier agreements and service contracts.
  • Spend & Supplier Management: Oversee spend under management, price lists, contract negotiations, invoice reconciliation, and consumption tracking.
  • Supplier Optimisation: Implement initiatives to improve supplier performance and deliver cost and service efficiencies.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
