Job Summary

This role involves leading a team in the development and operation of out-of-school programs and activities for young people.

The successful candidate will have knowledge, experience and understanding of current issues, trends and techniques relating to the development, implementation and operation of programs and strategies within the youth justice and adult custodial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Youth Engagement Officers at Parkville Youth Justice Precinct to provide a comprehensive program and activities tailored to the cohorts interests and cultural backgrounds.
  • Plan programs for the Parkville in advance to ensure cultural, religious and significant days and events are acknowledged or celebrated.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery internal and external programs delivery across the Parkville Precinct.
  • Maintain an understanding of issues impacting on youth justice and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, efficiency and improved client outcomes.
Requirements
  • Knowledge, experience and understanding of current issues, trends and techniques relating to the development, implementation and operation of programs and strategies within the youth justice and adult custodial settings.
  • A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
  • You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
