Job Title: Retail Operations Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the optimal product mix, stock levels, and service standards to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels, ensuring availability without overstocking.
  • Establish and maintain high service standards across gym operations, delivering a positive member experience.

Purchasing and Marketing Strategies:

  • Develop purchasing policies for retail goods, equipment, and consumables, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Formulate pricing strategies for memberships, personal training, and retail products, balancing competitiveness with profitability.
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones, leveraging digital promotions, local advertising, and community engagement.

Sales and Customer Engagement:

  • Lead promotional activities for gym memberships, fitness programs, and retail products, driving sales growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams or external agencies to develop advertising materials and campaigns, enhancing brand visibility.
  • Represent the gym at local events or initiatives, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee stock management systems to track product levels, sales, and usage, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including membership fees, point-of-sale purchases, and expenses, providing insights for informed decision-making.
  • Provide regular financial and operational reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, fitness instructors, and front desk personnel, fostering a customer-focused work culture.
  • Develop staff performance standards, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching, driving employee engagement and retention.

OHS Compliance:

  • Ensure gym operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for members and staff.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and staff training on OHS practices, minimizing risks and hazards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, demonstrating expertise in retail management.
  • Minimum 1+ year work experience as a Retail Manager in the Gym, showcasing leadership skills and industry knowledge.
