Commercial Leadership Opportunity

The Commercial Director will lead the delivery of a refreshed commercial framework, driving meaningful results and strategic partnerships across government, industry, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations for strategic infrastructure and telecommunications agreements, ensuring value and strategic outcomes.
  • Drive revenue growth through supplier management and operator engagement.
  • Finalize inter-operator transport agreements, delivering high-impact outcomes for Victorian communities.
  • Build strong partnerships to mobilize and deliver with the broader team.
  • Ensure governance, budget compliance, and workforce planning align with strategic goals.
  • Develop commercially focused ways of working at V/Line.

About You:

  • A strategic leader with a strong commercial mindset and proven track record in negotiating and delivering complex projects.
  • Polished communication skills to interface at an executive level, influencing key stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and interpersonal leadership capability.
  • Commitment to compliance and integrity, ensuring effective governance and risk management.
  • Clear and persuasive communication, written and verbal, to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Resilience and adaptive thinking to thrive in complex environments.
  • A relevant degree qualification in commerce, finance, economics, or business management is highly regarded.
