Trauma Care Specialist

As a Trauma Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide clinical expertise and guidance in trauma care across the district. Your role will involve monitoring trauma transfers between SWSLHD hospitals via the trauma hotline and providing timely feedback to the referring hospitals where necessary.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical leadership and expertise in trauma care
- Maintaining accurate records of trauma patient information
- Developing and implementing education programs for the care of trauma patients in SWSLHD facilities
- Collaborating with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for trauma patients
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- At least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience and at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience in a relevant field of practice relevant to the specialty
- Demonstrated experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery by enhancing models of care to achieve better patient outcomes and improve patient and staff experience
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and successfully implement evidence-based projects, quality activities and research relationships with a broad range stakeholders
