About The Position:- Lead the production of timely and accurate monthly and annual financial reports under strict deadlines.
- Ensure reconciliation and integrity of the general ledger, including debtors, creditors, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, providing clear and accurate responses to queries.
- Implement improvements to reporting systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team that embraces change and continuous learning.
- Support the development of policies, systems, and procedures across the district.
- Leading the Financial Accounting Team to produce timely and accurate financial statements.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and statutory obligations.
- Managing relationships with external auditors and stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing reporting systems and processes.
- Mentoring and developing a high-performing accounting team.
We seek a qualified and experienced financial professional with strong technical accounting skills, leadership capabilities, and passion for driving improvements and mentoring others.
Requirements:- CA or CPA qualification and relevant tertiary education in accounting/finance.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and ongoing professional development.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting services, particularly in producing monthly and annual reports.
- Proven ability to manage teams, foster collaboration, and deliver continuous improvements.
- Strong compliance skills with the ability to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
- High-level analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and financial management information systems.
