Open Pit Operations Manager

The Open Pit Mining Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of open pit mining, ensuring high standards of Safety, monitoring equipment usage and maintenance records, and conducting regular site inspections.
This role involves managing teams in an open pit environment, successfully overseeing operational performance, and having an excellent working knowledge of earthmoving fleet and equipment.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Proven supervisory experience in managing teams in an open pit environment
- A proven history of successfully overseeing the operational performance of an open pit mine
- An excellent working knowledge of open pit earthmoving fleet and equipment
- Must have gold mining experience
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standard of safety
- Day-to-day supervision of open pit mining activities to ensure production targets are being met
- Engaging with operators during pre-shift briefings to ensure daily targets and priorities are communicated
- Monitor equipment usage, maintenance records and availability
- Conducting regular site inspections and prestart meetings as required
