Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide high-quality support and services to individuals with mental health needs in supported accommodation.

  • This role involves providing client-focused, community-oriented, and sensitive support to enhance independent living skills.
  • The successful candidate will assist individuals to maintain key relationships, increase access and equity, and practice personal hygiene and healthy living habits.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide quality support and services to individuals with mental health needs.
  2. Assist individuals to maintain key organisational and other relationships that facilitate independent living.
  3. Increase access and equity for clients within a collaborative recovery model of psychosocial rehabilitation.
  4. Encourage clients to practice daily living skills, personal hygiene, and healthy living habits.
  5. Mentor clients in building productive relationships and using effective conflict resolution strategies.
Requirements
  • Cert IV in mental health or community services related discipline (ideally completed diploma or Bachelors).
  • Effective listening, empathy and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with people experiencing mental illness.
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people.
  • Understanding of the principles of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources and promote their rights, responsibilities and recovery.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families, carers, government agencies and community services.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office.
  • Available for overnight shifts and rotating 24/7 roster.
  • Eligible to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance and hold current Blue Card.
