
Comprehensive Mental Health Specialist

Mental Health Clinicians will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored psychological strategies in a community-based mental health care setting. They will collaborate with relevant service systems to address individual mental health and developmental needs.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, brief interventions, risk management, and care planning.
- Collaborate across health networks to plan and coordinate individualised psychosocial interventions based on case formulation approaches.
- Participate effectively within the multidisciplinary mental health team, profession-specific networks, and with consumers, families, carers, and extended agencies.
- Potential for after-hours work, negotiable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to individuals, including:
- Provision of comprehensive assessment, intervention, and ongoing support.
- Development and implementation of individualised care plans.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
- Maintenance of accurate records and documentation.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
- Demonstrated expertise in Brief Intervention Models of Care, with commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in continuous learning environments.
- Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills, demonstrating working knowledge of assessment and care planning.
- Sound understanding of public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
- Ideal experience in providing alcohol and other drugs counselling and support.
- Interpersonal skills demonstrating ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing mental illness.
- Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a member of a team.
- Skills in organisation and time-management, including ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
- Eligibility to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance and hold a Blue Card.
