About the Role
  • Provide commercial-focused advice to clients on competition issues arising from merger clearances and transactions across various industries and jurisdictions.
  • Offer comprehensive guidance on all aspects of competition and consumer law to facilitate business growth within legal bounds.
  • Litigate and resolve disputes related to competition and consumer law for corporate clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Support clients or regulatory agencies in investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels, and Australian Consumer Law contraventions.
  • Advising technology clients on regulatory frameworks in areas such as telecommunications, digital platforms, media law, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
  • Support renewable developers, energy networks, generators, and retailers with regulatory navigation and novel contract structures.
  • Assist clients with licensing, network access, and price control in regulated industries, including ports, rail, airports, and shipping.
Key Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-5+ years PQE experience gained in a leading law firm or regulator, with significant exposure to competition and regulatory and/or consumer law matters.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen, curiosity, and an enthusiastic proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, analytical, technical, and drafting skills.
