Job Title: Competition Law Specialist

We are seeking an experienced competition law specialist to support our clients across a wide range of matters and industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising domestic and international clients on competition issues arising in merger clearances and seeking clearance of domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions from the relevant authorities.
  • Providing advice on all aspects of competition and consumer law to support clients' business success within the bounds of the law.
  • Competition and consumer law dispute resolution and litigation for corporate clients and government agencies.
  • Supporting commercial clients or regulatory bodies with investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels (including criminal cartels) and Australian Consumer Law contraventions.
  • Advising a range of technology clients on the application of regulatory frameworks in areas such as telecommunications, digital platforms, media law, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
  • Supporting clients like renewable developers, energy networks, generators, and retailers with regulatory navigation and novel contract structures.
  • Assisting clients with licensing, network access, and price control in regulated industries.
Requirements:
  • 2-5+ years PQE experience gained within a leading law firm or regulator, with predominant exposure to competition and regulatory and/or consumer law matters.
  • Commercial acumen, analytical skills, and an enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong ability to work well in a team.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, technical, and drafting skills.
