Job Overview

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our Operations business in Perth. This role is a permanent requirement to support deliverables for a significant brownfields engineering opportunity, with a key client in the LNG industry.

Our Operations APAC (West) business delivers Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) services to the Oil & Gas sector, with long-term partnerships with prominent producers in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Southeast Asia.

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will work across Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Extensive experience as a Principal/Lead Engineer in the Onshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with onshore scope of work.
  2. Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency (PR) and the ability to work lawfully in Australia.
  3. A civil / structural degree and/or post-graduate degree from a recognized institution.
  4. Over 12 years of relevant experience as a Structural Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
  5. Experience in Onshore processing facilities and site surveying/scoping.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients.
  7. Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  8. Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g., SACS, StaadPro).
  9. Experience in the use of API, AISC, and ISO design codes.

Prior experience within Brownfield EPCM projects will be highly valued.
