Wood is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our Operations business in Perth. This is a permanent role that will support deliverables for a significant brownfields engineering opportunity in the LNG industry.

**About the Role**

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be working across Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Execution to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) delivery, with a focus on design. To be successful in this role, you will have prior Principal/Lead engineer level working experience in the Onshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with onshore scope of work.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the design and development of structural engineering solutions for brownfields projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver EPCM projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design codes and standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers

**Requirements**

  • 12+ years of relevant experience as a Structural Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience in Onshore processing facilities and site surveying/scoping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g. SACS, StaadPro)
  • Experience in the use of API, AISC, and ISO design codes
