Principal Structural Engineer Opportunity

Wood Plc is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our Operations business in Perth. This permanent role will support deliverables for a significant brownfields engineering opportunity in the LNG industry.

About the Role

This is a key position within our Operations APAC (West) business, which delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will work across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering design for onshore processing facilities and site surveying / scoping
  • Develop and implement effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Utilize relevant software packages, including SACS and Staad Pro
  • Apply API, AISC, and ISO design codes
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience as a Structural Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the use of relevant software packages and design codes
  • Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency (PR) and ability to work lawfully in Australia
  • Suitably qualified engineer with a civil / structural degree and/or post-graduate degree from a recognized institution
