
Young Lives Matter Coordinator

As a dedicated professional in residential care, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing and personal growth of young people aged 10 to 18 who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and neglect. Our SRC Homes provide a therapeutic environment where young people feel safe, and supported.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effective in-home daily residential care, ensuring a positive and consistent environment that promotes safety, stability, and connection for your people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote a thriving environment within the SRC home, fostering a culture of positivity and growth.
- Support Therapeutic Care Workers with day-to-day supervision, guidance, coaching, and mentoring to enable the delivery of quality therapeutic care.
- Work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Team Leaders to support the team and ensure consistent care practices.
- Contribute to health and safety inspections and reporting while supporting the team to complete mandatory and developmental training.
- Work alongside Department of Child Protection case management to ensure all elements of the child or young person's care needs are met.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of administration tasks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in care practices and documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.
About You:
- Previous experience working with young people with complex trauma is essential.
- A sound understanding of therapeutic care practices and experience in residential care, youth work, or a related field is required.
- Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with young people, families, peers, and other service providers are necessary.
- Ability to identify and respond effectively to crisis situations with a calm, solutions-focused approach is crucial.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills to support and develop team members are required.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise competing demands is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and positive relationships are necessary.
Requirements:
- A minimum degree level qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology Occupational Therapy, or other allied health services or currently working towards one is required.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate is mandatory.
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People Certificate is also required.
- Willingness to undergo a psychological assessment and pass a Working with Children Check and National Police Check is necessary.
- Current valid Driver's License and eligibility to work in Australia are required.
