Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a key player in managing the company's intellectual property portfolio. You will take ownership of a diverse set of trademarks, patents, and copyrights, gaining exposure to global issues at the intersection of technology, creativity, and brand protection.

The role involves working across a wide variety of IP matters from licensing, litigation, and global regulatory issues to commercial agreements with IP elements. You will have the chance to collaborate with overseas advisers on cross-border IP strategy and provide input on general commercial matters as part of the wider in-house team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company's trademarks, patents, and copyright portfolio.
  • Advise on global IP transfers and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the business on IP litigation and settlement work.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with IP elements.
  • Collaborate with overseas advisers on cross-border IP strategy.
  • Provide input on general commercial matters as part of the wider in-house team.

Requirements:

  • Admitted as a solicitor in Australia (or equivalent overseas jurisdiction).
  • 3–5 years PQE in IP, ideally from a top-tier, international, or specialist IP firm.
  • Exposure to both contentious and non-contentious IP matters.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach, with excellent communication skills.
