Your Daily Responsibilities

We are seeking a Product Manager to spearhead our Pre-Payroll product team. This role is crucial in the development and launch of our leave management and expense solutions within the Employment Hero platform, transforming how individuals manage their work, finances, benefits, and careers.

As the Product Manager, you will shape the product strategy, vision, and delivery roadmap while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure we provide outstanding value to our users. You will be a vital member of our Product team, working alongside Designers, Engineers, and Data specialists. We are committed to your growth and will encourage you to be bold and ambitious.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Product Management & Delivery

  • Oversee the successful realization of the product vision.
  • Drive the exploration of features and initiatives on the roadmap.
  • Translate the product vision into actionable delivery, operations, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Adjust the product vision and roadmap as necessary while remaining aligned with the overarching goals.

Backlog Management

  • Utilize a strategic approach to prioritize user stories and delivery.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories consistently.
  • Balance business objectives, stakeholder expectations, and customer needs with technical feasibility and available resources.
  • Represent customer and business interests in decision-making during planning sessions.
  • Identify and prioritize customer feedback and concerns effectively.

Collaboration and Team Leadership

  • Work closely with designers and product leadership to plan and analyze testing and performance metrics for future releases.
  • Partner with Product Designers to ensure we deliver exceptional designs and create relevant user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Developers to ensure the product vision and design solutions are practical and achievable.
  • Engage with Sales and Marketing to create launch materials that effectively communicate the product vision to customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate with Professional Services and Support teams to develop implementation plans for existing clients.

Effective Communication

  • Clearly articulate ideas, issues, or project statuses to key stakeholders and the broader organization at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Ensure accurate gathering and transparent communication of product requirements to the product team.
  • Capably host and present to the entire organization, including executive leadership and external partners.

What You Bring to the Table

Essential Qualifications:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree (preferably in Business Systems, IT, or Engineering).
  • 5+ years of experience in product management and strategy, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
  • 3+ years of experience working with software development teams in an agile environment.
  • A passion for innovative thinking and user-centered design.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Self-motivated and able to excel in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Proficient in writing clear specifications to communicate expected product outcomes.
  • Experience in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to derive actionable insights.
  • Able to challenge norms and question existing processes regularly.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and data-driven with a diverse skill set.
  • Experience in validating concepts and gathering user feedback through various research methods.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to build financial models and understand business drivers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HR and/or payroll software.
  • Knowledge of global leave management practices.
  • International product experience.
