Role Overview

The Learning Excellence Lead plays a pivotal role in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the organisation. They are highly skilled educators who continue to spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality instruction and learning experiences.

The specialist has a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including:

  • Demonstrating expert knowledge in instructional strategies and educational practices
  • Modeling exemplary classroom practice through demonstration lessons
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to develop a shared vision for effective teacher practice
  • Leading and modeling the implementation of whole-organisation improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery
  • Playing a key role in the provision of professional development opportunities

The Learning Excellence Lead is expected to have deep knowledge and expertise in high-quality instruction and learning, with a focus on delivering improved student outcomes, engagement, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing evidence-based feedback to educators to inform their effectiveness and growth
  • Offering expert advice on the context, processes, and strategies that will shape individual and organisational professional development
  • Supervising and training one or more trainee teachers and mentoring/coaching educators
  • Modeling exemplary use of data to inform instructional approaches

The Learning Excellence Lead will work closely with educators, leaders, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in teaching and learning.
