Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Q-CTRL Full time

About Q-CTRL

Q-CTRL is a pioneering company in the quantum control infrastructure software domain. Founded in 2017, we have rapidly grown to become the global leader, with a strong presence in Australia, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Oxford.

We believe that our mission of making quantum technology useful can only be achieved by bringing together diverse teams such as product, design, engineering, and research. Our approach is centered around delivering real-world outcomes across various sectors, including defense, while continually innovating and improving our software engineering practices.

The Quantum Future Awaits

You are invited to join our team as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer at Q-CTRL. As part of our Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the backbone of the Q-CTRL Platform, a Kubernetes-based platform that supports various workloads, including quantum modeling and GPU-accelerated tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Becoming deeply familiar with our software stack, integrating past knowledge into our overall platform architecture, and ensuring the adoption of best technologies for achieving platform goals.
  • Staying current with industry best practices for cloud operations, advocating for a DevOps culture, and contributing to the improvement of software engineering practices.
  • Developing toolchain support, including CI/CD pipelines, ephemeral test environments, vulnerability scanning, and automated infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling.
  • Ensuring applications are scalable, highly available, and cloud-agnostic, targeting multiple public clouds and provisioning private infrastructure for select clients.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and expertise in creating a Kubernetes cluster in a production scenario.
  • Expertise in public clouds such as AWS or GCP, configuring them according to current best practices and applying this knowledge to a Kubernetes environment.
  • Experience with various Linux distributions and ability to troubleshoot common problems.
  • Proficiency in software development and programming, with the ability to understand application codebases quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts.
Why Q-CTRL?

At Q-CTRL, we prioritize flexibility, offering a workplace schedule that allows you to focus on your global impact rather than adhering to a rigid routine. You will also enjoy an attractive salary, equity opportunities, parental support, and a unique culture centered around learning, diversity, and meaningful values.

In addition, you will have access to a personal development and wellness budget, reflecting our commitment to your growth and well-being. Join us in shaping the future of quantum technology and delivering impactful results in a dynamic and supportive environment.
