Academic Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to contribute to the development of novel approaches to biochemical information extraction using deep learning.
This project involves natural language processing of scientific literature, focusing on extracting relevant information from published research papers.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Karin Verspoor and Dr Trevor Cohn, in collaboration with Associate Professor Lawrence Cavedon from RMIT University.
Project Overview:
The PhD studentship aims to investigate the application of deep learning techniques for information extraction from scientific literature. The research will involve developing novel methods for relation and event extraction, co-reference resolution, and analysis of semantic tables.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong background in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field
- Familiarity with natural language processing techniques and deep learning frameworks
- Demonstrated programming skills in languages such as Python or Java
