A PhD scholarship is offered as part of a transdisciplinary project focused on GunaiKurnai Archaeology along the Snowy. This project is conducted by a team of researchers co-ordinated by Elder Uncle Russell Mullett and Professor Bruno David.

Requirements and Qualifications
The successful applicant will have an excellent academic track record in archaeology and related disciplines. Undergraduate training in social anthropology or Indigenous studies is preferred, along with competence in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. In assessing applicants, the selection committee prioritises those holding an Australian Honours or Masters degree in a relevant field, with a significant research component and first-class Honours/H1 awarded.
Scholarship holders must be enrolled full-time and on campus. Please note that applicants already holding a PhD in archaeology will not be considered.Enrolment and Further Information
The successful applicant will be expected to enrol before 1 July 2025. There may be flexibility regarding the date of commencement of the PhD. Before completing your research proposal, it is required to discuss your proposal with Professor Bruno David, Monash Indigenous Studies Centre.

EoIs shall comprise: a cover letter including a brief statement of suitability, a brief research proposal not exceeding 750 words, a curriculum vitae, a full statement of academic record and official grading system, English language proficiency test results if applicable, two academic referee letters, and a copy of your current passport if available.
