Information Extraction Research Scientist

Job Opportunity in Advanced Research and Development
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled research scientist to contribute to the field of information extraction from scientific literature. This PhD studentship involves developing novel approaches to biochemical information extraction using deep learning techniques.
The successful candidate will join our research group, working under the direction of Associate Professor Karin Verspoor and Dr Trevor Cohn. The project also involves collaboration with Associate Professor Lawrence Cavedon from RMIT University.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement novel deep learning approaches for biochemical information extraction
- Collaborate with our team to develop practical solutions
- Contribute to the development of our research agenda
- Strong undergraduate honours degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Understanding of methods in machine learning and computational linguistics
- Interest in acquiring knowledge of the biochemical domain, or prior experience in biology or chemistry
- Prior experience in research projects and good communication skills
