Data Governance & Privacy Manager

Our Enterprise team drives commercial growth and deeper engagement with data-driven solutions. As the Data Governance & Privacy Manager, you will be a vital contributor to our responsible data and AI strategy.

You'll work closely with senior leaders to implement and maintain critical frameworks that allow for ambitious innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections.

  • Implement Governance: You'll be hands-on in implementing and maintaining our AI and Data Governance frameworks.
  • Champion Data Integrity: You will support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: You will conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Manage Risk: You'll help identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI.
  • Collaborate and Educate: You will partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.

Successful candidates will have 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.

A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) is essential.

Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and an understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management, is also required.

A solid grasp of AI concepts, such as machine learning and generative AI, and their associated privacy challenges is necessary.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit are required, with the ability to translate complex ideas into practical advice.
