Senior Tug Operator

Synaco Global Recruitment is partnering with a prominent mining and resources company to find an experienced Senior Tug Operator for their Port and Logistics team in the Northern Territory.

About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing harbour towage duties in line with the operational plan. As Engineer when not acting as Master, they will oversee preventative, corrective, and statutory maintenance on the vessel. Additionally, they will raise and complete SAP work orders, maintain 100% compliance with planned maintenance tasks, and ensure readiness for operations.
Key Responsibilities- Performing harbour towage, in accordance with the operational plan.
- Acting as Engineer when not performing Master duties.
- Taking command of the Tug and its crew when acting as Master.
- Completing preventative, corrective, and statutory maintenance on the vessel.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $65.00 - $67.50, with a 10% loading on hours worked outside of shift times. Flights from Cairns or Darwin are provided, along with accommodation and meals whilst on site. A 1:1 roster ensures a healthy work-life balance.
Requirements- A minimum ASD Master under 35m Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
- Engineer Class 3 (Consideration will be given for MED1 with sea time).
- Current statements of attainment in Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- A current AMSA Medical applicable to your Certificate of Competency.
- A valid MSIC or 'Job Ready' MSIC Application.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Current, manual driver's licence.
