Synaco Global Recruitment is partnering with a prominent global contributor in the mining and resources sector to find an experienced ASD Tug Master for their operations in the Northern Territory.

The role involves harbour towage, acting as Engineer when not performing Master duties, taking command of the Tug and its crew, completing maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.

To be successful in this position, applicants must possess a minimum ASD Master under 35m Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or equivalent, along with certifications in Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP) or its equivalent. They should also hold Engineer Class 3, current statements of attainment in Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), a current AMSA Medical applicable to their Certificate of Competency, a valid MSIC or 'Job Ready' MSIC Application, full Australian working rights, and a current manual driver's licence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing harbour towage in line with the operational plan
  • Acting as Engineer when not performing Master duties
  • Taking command of the Tug and its crew
  • Completing preventative, corrective, and statutory maintenance on the vessel
  • Maintaining 100% compliance and completion of planned maintenance tasks
  • Coordinating attendance of crew as required for operations

The remuneration package for this role includes a competitive hourly rate of $65-$67.50, paid flights from Cairns or Darwin, work-life balance with a 1:1 roster, and accommodation and meals provided whilst on site.
