The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Workboat Operator to join our team for the Darwin Ship Lift project. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and operating vessel controls to ensure optimal operation, as well as maintaining vessel availability to meet or exceed planned efficiency goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Constantly monitor and operate vessel controls to ensure optimal operation and safety.
  • Direct and assist others in placing/moving anchors and floating pipeline.
  • Maintain vessel availability to meet or exceed planned efficiency goals.
  • Work on a 20:10 roster with day and night shifts.
  • Operate in a safe manner, adhering to company OH&S policies.

About You

  • Proven experience operating commercial vessels on construction projects.
  • At least a Master 5 or Master 24m Near Coastal certificate.
  • Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal (MED2).
  • A positive can-do attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Located in New South Wales (preferred).
  • Experience working as a multicat and/or tug and barge operator.

Salary Estimate: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
