National Payroll Lead

The Payroll Manager will lead the national payroll function for a workforce of over 700 employees, optimizing systems and processes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage end-to-end weekly and fortnightly in-house payroll processing.
- Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, and workers' compensation processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and automation.
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing payroll team, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of payroll data.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll, including 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll functions, ideally within the construction industry.
- Prior involvement in payroll system implementation is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding communication skills, ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
