Role Overview

This Behavioural Management position is a permanent part-time opportunity within NSW Health, delivering evidence-based interventions to older patients in rehabilitation and aged care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavioural disturbances
  • Develop tailored behaviour management plans to address individual needs
  • Deliver best-practice interventions and support services
  • Administer cognitive screening assessments to inform treatment decisions
  • Provide education and support to carers and families

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification
  • Compliance with work health and safety policies and procedures
  • National Police Check (conducted by Health Service for recommended candidates)
  • Postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology with general registration and specialist endorsement
  • Knowledge of working with cognitive impairment, dementia and BPSD
  • Experience in cognitive screening and report-writing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office and healthcare systems

Working Environment:

The role operates across two campuses, providing essential healthcare services to the Western Sydney community.
