About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sample Preparation Specialist to join our team at Intertek's Darwin Laboratory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery to crush, split, and pulverize raw mineral samples in a laboratory environment. This role requires strong manual handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Preparation: Sort, weigh, dry, and process mineral samples using various equipment and machinery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all samples are processed in accordance with Intertek's quality standards and procedures.
  • Documentation: Accurately record and report sample preparation activities, including any issues or concerns.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with laboratory staff to ensure efficient sample processing and meet customer deadlines.
Requirements
  • Manual Handling Experience: Previous experience in manual handling, lifting, and moving heavy equipment or materials.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in sample preparation and documentation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift 15-20kg safely, and work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
