Wildlife Bird Care Professional

As an Avian Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the care and maintenance of our entire avian collection. This includes assisting with daily tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of the birds.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for relieving coverage for the Texas horned lizard collection and providing assistance to the Animal Care Department as needed.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to attend Attwater's Recovery Team meetings when possible.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily care and maintenance of the Avian collection
- Relief coverage for the Texas horned lizard collection
- Assist the Animal Care Dept. with procedures as needed
- Attend Attwater's Recovery Team meetings when possible
- University Degree in Biology, Zoology, or related field, or 2 years' experience in a professional avian collection
- Interest in artificial incubation of galliformes and other birds
- Understanding of the biology of galliformes and other birds
- Work with a variety of bird species, including those in the Attwater's Recovery Program
- Contribute to the care and well-being of animals in a professional setting
