Job Description:The Avian Care Specialist will be responsible for providing daily care and maintenance of the avian collection, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health and well-being of birds. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with relief coverage for other animal collections, provide daily care of facilities, and support the Animal Care Department with various procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- University degree in biology, zoology, or related field; or 2 years' experience in a professional avian collection.
- Interest in artificial incubation of galliformes and other birds.
- Understanding of the biology of galliformes and other birds.
- Expertise in hand raising birds.
- Public speaking experience.
- Familiarity with PC's and competent with Excel, Microsoft Word, and database management.
