Responsibilities
  • Review and update security-related documentation, implementing a cyclical review process.
  • Contribute to the standardization of documentation across Disaster, Emergency, and School Security portfolios.
  • Align guidelines for managing school security-related incidents with industry best practices.
  • Develop communication strategies for security initiatives, publications, and updates.
  • Provide advice on implementing the Department of Education's protective security approach according to the Queensland Protective Security Framework.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Able to lead and participate in teams developing innovative solutions for security, infrastructure, and planning services.
  • Capable of providing high-level advice to management, Regional Directors, and Principals on a range of issues.
  • Experience working on project teams that develop, implement, maintain, and review programs, policies, and procedures supporting strategic initiatives.
  • Able to establish and maintain networks monitoring issues and changes, identifying best practices for consistent processes.
  • Proven experience preparing responses, reports, and briefing materials on security and infrastructure issues.
  • Capacity to contribute to team member development through guidance, support, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
