The Principal Facilities Services Officer will be responsible for delivering strategic advice to senior executives, regional directors, and principals on a wide range of issues related to school security infrastructure and incidents in Queensland.
- Lead the review and update of school security-related documentation and implement a cyclical review program.
- Contribute to the standardisation of documentation across the Disaster, Emergency and School Security portfolios.
- Align guidelines for managing school security-related incidents with industry best practices.
- Develop and lead communication plans for security initiatives, publications, and other updates.
- Provide advice on implementing protective security measures in accordance with the Queensland Protective Security Framework.
- Collaborate with school security advisors, project delivery leads, and security technology advisors on security projects.
- Responsible for projects and programs requiring extensive stakeholder engagement, including the development and implementation of major change frameworks/procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong ability to lead and participate in teams formulating innovative solutions for security, infrastructure, and planning-related services.
- High-level advisory skills to provide guidance to senior executives, regional directors, and principals on a broad range of issues.
- Experience participating in project teams developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing policies and procedures supporting strategic initiatives for security, infrastructure, and planning-related issues.
- Ability to establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor issues and changes, and identify best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes.
- High-level experience preparing responses, reports, and briefing materials on a range of security, infrastructure, and planning-related issues.
- Proven experience contributing to team member development by providing guidance, support, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders and ensure services meet their needs.
