Product Acquisition Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for spearheading the full product lifecycle, from range planning and supplier negotiations to system data management and cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create seasonal and ongoing product assortments that align with sales insights and sustainability goals
  • Negotiate supplier terms—pricing, delivery, and margins
  • Maintain product and supplier records within ProntoXi or equivalent ERP systems
  • Partner with marketing, digital, and retail teams
  • Monitor category performance and KPIs, including stock availability and customer feedback
  • Participate in product launches, trade shows, and sustainability initiatives

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years of buying or merchandise planning experience, ideally in outdoor, lifestyle, or sporting industries
  • Passion for adventure travel, bushwalking, hiking, climbing, or trail running
  • Excellent negotiation and Excel skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical rigour
  • Passion for sustainability and ethical retail
  • Exceptional communication skills and supplier management
  • Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced retail environment
