Job Title: Senior Program Delivery Officer

Job Description

The Southern Queensland Correctional Centre is a high-security placement accommodation facility for sentenced and remand women. The centre provides a gender-responsive, trauma-informed approach to managing women with the goal of offering an opportunity to truly rehabilitate and escape the cycle that led to crime.

As a Senior Program Delivery Officer, you will ensure a high level of community safety through managing the assessment and treatment of offenders incarcerated or subject to community-based supervision at dedicated delivery sites. This role also provides advice, recommendations, and practice supervision in relation to assessment processes and program delivery at a local level.

You will be responsible for delivering general and/or sexual offending programs, motivating, coaching, and mentoring others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles. You will also engage with community groups, key stakeholders, and work with special interest groups particularly in the criminal justice system.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience in providing program supervision
  • Delivery of general and/or sexual offending programs
  • Motivating, coaching, and mentoring others
  • Community engagement and liaison with key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Preparation and provision of complex reports
  • Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Requirements

This role requires possession of tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, education, or behavioural sciences. Postgraduate studies in a related field and affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.

Training

Appointment to this position requires completion of intensive training to ensure newly appointed officers are provided the necessary skills and information to deliver offender intervention programs.

Working Conditions

There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
