Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Mechanical Fitter on our railcar program with METRONET. As part of this role, you will be responsible for installing and assembling railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools.

You will also use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace, and align subassemblies and components.

Your primary focus will be ensuring that all work is efficiently planned in the Bogie Shop and Assembly workshop, controlled, and undertaken in a safe manner to the standards set down by the customer and Alstom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and assemble railway vehicle components
  • Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices
  • Evaluate and inspect work for quality and safety
  • Collaborate with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement
About You

We are looking for individuals with experience in mechanical production or assembly, preferably holding a Certificate 3 in Mechanical Trade.

You should be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and have a strong focus on EHS as your number one priority.

A good team player who is ready to take on new challenges and opportunities for growth is essential.
