Senior Rail Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Alstom's Bellevue Site in Perth, Australia.
About the Role- Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools.
- Perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car.
- Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components.
- Perform self-inspection of railway car components to identify defects and ensure quality.
- Remove and replace defective parts and components.
- Proficiently cross-reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Mechanical Trade Certification or certificate III in Engineering or similar.
- Experience within the manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams & drawings.
- High risk tickets or licenses (EWP, working at heights etc) would be advantageous but not mandatory.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a leading company in the transportation industry and contribute to designing, manufacturing and maintaining new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains.
