We are seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team on a major road infrastructure project in South Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating the implementation of project environmental programs and ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- The Environmental Coordinator will support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of project Environmental Management Plans and systems.
- They will provide environmental guidance, diligence, and consistency to site teams and internal stakeholders.
- The role involves identifying and effectively managing environmental risks and opportunities for improvement.
- The Environmental Coordinator will conduct inspections, monitoring, and reporting to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- They will also support the management of environmental consultants and undertake field monitoring where required.
- Maintaining comprehensive environmental records and ensuring management is informed of any changes to legal, regulatory, or project obligations are key responsibilities.
- Liaising with government agencies, local councils, and professional organisations on environmental matters is an essential aspect of the role.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in environmental management within construction, infrastructure, or major projects sectors.
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Environment (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures, environmental management tools, and incident investigation processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external stakeholders.
