Job Opportunity in Defence Sector

UGL supports the Australian Defence Force across various locations nationwide. Our team's expertise ensures effective and sustainable delivery of operations and maintenance services, as well as asset management and fuel supply services.

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Darwin RAAF Base in Northern Territory. This opportunity allows you to work in the Australia Defence environment, supporting national security requirements.

You will benefit from working with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term operations and maintenance contract. Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based in Darwin, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
  • Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
  • Support subcontracted work packages as required
  • Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout Northern Territory

To be successful, you must have a strong background in mechanical trade qualifications, post-trade experience, and relevant skills. You should also possess a proven track record of working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas. Experience within the defence fuels network or defence industry is highly regarded.

Additionally, you must hold, or have the ability to obtain, appropriate Defence Security Clearance. Confining space and working at heights tickets are highly regarded. Safety must always be at the forefront of your work.
