Job OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the modernisation of our core systems. This is a full-time permanent opportunity that requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of modern software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the modernisation of our core systems from a legacy monolithic architecture to a modern, cloud-based platform primarily utilising Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Set the technical and architectural direction, elevate engineering standards, and modernise engineering practices
- Ensure a seamless transition to a more secure, scalable, efficient, and agile technology stack
- Drive innovation and experimentation across the Product Engineering organisation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of leading large-scale modernisation/migration projects
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and ecosystem
- Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns, such as cloud-native, microservices, serverless computing, and containerisation
- Proficiency in a range of programming languages and technologies relevant to cloud-based development
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of digital transformation and the latest technology trends
- Experience in strategic planning and execution at an enterprise level
