Job Title: Senior Software Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect to lead the modernisation of our core systems, from a legacy monolithic architecture and desktop application to a modern, cloud-based platform, primarily utilising Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of modern software engineering practices. In collaboration with the Head of Engineering, the role is accountable for setting the technical and architectural direction, elevating engineering standards, modernising & uplifting engineering practices, and ensuring a seamless transition to a more secure, scalable, efficient, and agile technology stack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale modernisation/migration projects
- Design and implement cloud-native architecture patterns
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and experimentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and ecosystem
- Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns
- Proficiency in a range of programming languages and technologies relevant to cloud-based development
