Job Title: Family Support Specialist

This role involves working closely with families of young children who have disabilities or developmental delays, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to navigate the NDIS system and maximize the benefits available to their child.

  • Building trusting relationships with families and service providers is a crucial aspect of this position.
  • Supporting families in understanding and implementing their child's NDIS plan, as well as reviewing and updating it as needed, is an essential part of the job.
  • Coordinating regular plan reassessments and monitoring progress towards individualized goals is also a key responsibility.
  • Providing practical guidance and emotional support to families, particularly during challenging conversations, is vital to this role.
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing administrative tasks efficiently is another important aspect of the position.

Exceptional customer service and a strong family-centered approach are fundamental to this role. Effective communication skills are essential for simplifying complex information and conveying it in a way that is easily understood by families.

Experience in early childhood education, administration, or customer service is highly desirable, as is an understanding of the NDIS and its impact on families of children with additional needs.

Previous experience working with children who have developmental delays or disabilities and a solid grasp of child development and/or early childhood intervention can be beneficial.
