Job Overview

This role offers the opportunity to leverage expertise in tailings storage facilities and earth structures, with a strong focus on project planning, technical deliverables, and client coordination. As a seasoned professional, you will work closely with senior specialists, delivering high-quality designs and assessments, including stability and seepage analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret laboratory test results, preparing comprehensive summary reports.
  • Develop defensible soil strength parameters using laboratory and field data.
  • Perform screening-level and detailed design analyses to support tailings storage facility and earth structure designs.
  • Responsible for project planning, proposal preparation, report writing, and coordination of client-contractor requests.
  • Conduct site inspections, supervise geotechnical investigations, and oversee construction of tailings storage facility designs.
  • Identify safety hazards and report OH&S and environmental incidents.
  • Deliver timely technical reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • 3-5 years' experience working on tailings/mine waste projects locally or internationally, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, slope stability software (e.g., GeoStudio, RocScience), MUK3D, GoldSim, gINT, FLAC, PLAXIS, and other latest geotechnical design tools.
  • Civil 3D knowledge an asset.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
